Job Title: Security & Personnel Administrator (Contract)
Location: Preston
Contract Type: Long-term contract (12 months+)
Pay Rate: £18.58 per hour (PAYE, inside IR35)
Hours: 38.75 hours per week (paid lunch break included)
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for BPSS clearance
Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Security & Personnel Administrator to support the Personnel and Physical Security Department. This is a long-term contract opportunity driven by increased workload across multiple sites, including support for outages at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Personnel and Physical Security Department
- Photocopying, scanning, and maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Booking and coordinating meetings, including scheduling and logistics
- Managing visitor bookings and ensuring site access processes are followed
- Supporting recruitment activities for employees, agency workers, and contractors
- Assisting with onboarding processes and documentation checks
- Supporting security administration across the main site and satellite locations
- Ensuring all administrative tasks are completed in line with company procedures and security requirements
About the Role
Due to a significant increase in workload, this role plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations across the department. The team supports not only the primary site but also multiple satellite sites and customer outage projects, requiring a flexible and detail-oriented individual.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous administrative experience (ideally within a security, HR, or compliance environment)
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Additional Requirements
- Eligibility to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance is essential
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
