Principal Information Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

Westlakes Recruit are seeking a highly experienced Information Management leader to drive digital delivery across major, complex programmes within nuclear or other heavy industries. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering BIM and Information Management strategies at scale while influencing wider digital transformation. This role is permanent and based in Whitehaven and Manchester. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Information Management across large-scale programmes (typically £1bn+), aligned with ISO 19650 standards
• Define and implement BIM and IM strategies, ensuring robust data governance, integrity, and accessibility
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to multidisciplinary delivery teams and IM functions
• Establish, maintain, and improve IM processes, standards, and frameworks
• Oversee training and adoption of IM best practices across internal and external stakeholders
• Lead reporting on BIM and IM performance at programme level
• Support and lead bid/proposal activity, providing subject matter expertise in digital delivery and IM
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure high-quality, consistent project outcomes
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and development of new digital capabilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams, including direct line management responsibilities

Candidate Profile:

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in Information Management / BIM within nuclear or comparable heavy industries
• Proven track record leading IM on large, complex programmes
• Deep expertise in ISO 19650 and digital delivery frameworks
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and team development capability
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting or leading bids and proposals
• Strategic mindset with the ability to drive transformation and innovation
• Background in STEM, information management, or a related discipline preferred
