RESPONSIBILITIES
We are currently recruiting for a Safety Adviser to support a major nuclear decommissioning programme across the North West. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys being visible on site, building strong working relationships, and driving a positive safety culture across complex projects.
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager and wider project teams, you will play a key role in maintaining safe working environments across decommissioning activities, ensuring Health & Safety remains at the forefront of operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Health & Safety standards through regular engagement with both site and office-based teams.
- Support project teams with the safe planning and delivery of works, providing practical H&S guidance and advice.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of organisational H&S standards, procedures and policies.
- Support incident investigations, reporting processes, audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety conversations and behavioural safety engagements across project teams.
- Deliver internal H&S and Human Performance training in an engaging and effective manner.
- Work collaboratively with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders across multiple projects and sites.
Requirements
- Previous experience within Health & Safety roles in highly regulated or complex environments, ideally nuclear, construction, infrastructure or engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working within multi-stakeholder or Joint Venture (JV) project environments.
- NEBOSH qualification or willingness to work towards recognised H&S certifications.
- Valid CSCS card (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexible approach to travel and site-based work across the North West and nationally when required.
