Project Manager

Location: West Cumbria (Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in the office)

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing team delivering complex projects within a highly regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects while contributing to the development of project management capability within the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects throughout their full lifecycle, from bid and tender stages through to delivery and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality project and programme management services across a portfolio of projects.
  • Manage projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through to completion.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, including cost, schedule, risk, and quality metrics.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, including schedules, risk registers, progress reports, and project controls information.
  • Implement effective communication strategies to ensure alignment across project teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Support business growth through bid preparation, proposal development, and identifying future opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice project management standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale multidisciplinary projects as a Project Manager.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries, ideally nuclear, defence, energy, or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, governance, change management, and risk management processes.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and project portfolios simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of design management processes, review procedures, and change control requirements.
  • Degree qualified or HNC qualified in an Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Professional project management qualifications are advantageous.
