Senior Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently supporting a leading engineering and technology consultancy in their search for Senior Systems Engineers to join a growing Defence & Decommissioning division. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-profile projects within highly regulated industries including Defence and Nuclear.

The successful candidates will play a key role across systems engineering activities, supporting major programmes involving mechanical, electrical, and process systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements specification production and management
• Interface management across complex systems
• System architecture definition and development
• Functional and interface modelling
• Working across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines
• Using requirements management tools such as DOORS
• Supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities using tools such as Capella

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience within a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, or similar
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and systems thinking
• Degree qualified in Engineering or a STEM-related subject, or equivalent industry experience
• Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering considered advantageous
• Experience using IBM Rational DOORS is desirable
• Familiarity with MBSE methodologies and tools such as Capella is desirable
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards including INCOSE and British Standards is beneficial
• Candidates with transferable engineering experience looking to develop further within Systems Engineering are also encouraged to apply
