The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Safety Case Engineer with experience in the nuclear or defence sector to join on a permanent basis.
As a Senior Safety Case Engineer, you’ll take on a role that’s out of the ordinary — managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities through the application of process, domain knowledge, and experience.
Day to day, you’ll:

Develop hazard management strategies and participate in HAZID / HAZOP studies.

Author radiological safety assessments, including Hazard Management Strategies and Safety Reports (PSRs, PCSRs, and equivalents).

Produce and review calculations, design basis documentation, and technical reports.

Oversee delivery of work undertaken by the supply chain, maintaining progress against cost and schedule, and managing project risks.

Maintain oversight of technical and safety case strategies across projects, sharing best practice and key learnings.
This is a full-time role (37 hours per week) offering hybrid working and flexible arrangements to support work–life balance.
Essential Experience:

Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it).

Experience supporting other safety case consultants with technical queries.

Proven ability to deliver across a variety of complex tasks.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across multiple disciplines.
Qualifications:

Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Level Security Clearance. Further details can be found on the UK Government website.
