RESPONSIBILITIES
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a senior quantity surveyor to be engaged on a permanent basis in Whitehaven, Cumbria.The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost management delivery on medium to large projects, acting as the primary commercial contact for clients. The role requires strong technical ability, leadership of junior staff, and the capability to manage complex pre? and post?contract activities while ensuring high?quality delivery.
Your role
Lead full pre?contract and post?contract cost management services
Develop detailed cost plans, estimates and procurement strategies
Manage complex tendering processes and undertake negotiations
Lead change control, risk management, cost assurance and reporting
Provide strategic commercial advice to clients and senior stakeholders
Lead value engineering and cost optimisation workshops
Oversee valuations, financial statements and final accounts
Manage multiple projects or major packages concurrently
Mentor, coach and support QS and AQS colleagues
Contribute to bids, proposals and business development initiatives
Ensure compliance with internal governance and professional standards
Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and to provide expert advice on cost?related issues.
