Senior Project Manager – Buildings & Places

Westlakes Recruit is partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of major building and infrastructure projects across the North East.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking to take a lead role in delivering complex, high-value schemes across the education, residential, commercial and public sector markets while mentoring junior team members and contributing to business growth.
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion, acting as the primary client interface and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of multiple construction projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Managing multidisciplinary project teams across design, commercial and technical disciplines.
- Taking ownership of project programmes, budgets, governance, risk and resource management.
- Administering NEC and JCT contracts and advising on procurement strategies.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to junior Project Managers.
- Supporting business development activities, client account management and bid submissions.
- Identifying opportunities for repeat business and contributing to the continued growth of the team.
About You
We're looking for candidates with:
- A degree in a construction-related discipline.
- Chartered status (or working towards) with APM, RICS, CIOB or an equivalent professional body.
- Proven experience delivering complex construction projects in a client-facing consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts and UK procurement routes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering projects within the education, residential, commercial or public sectors.
- The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior professionals.
- A full UK driving licence.
