Project Engineer - Civils - Wigan

RESPONSIBILITIES

Westlakes Recruit is proud to be supporting a leading civil engineering contractor in the search for a Project Engineer to join the delivery of a major infrastructure project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to take the next step in their career, working on a high-profile scheme where you'll be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting the successful delivery of complex civil works.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in project delivery, working closely with site teams, designers, clients and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating site engineering activities across the project.
• Managing technical compliance, setting out and construction information.
• Monitoring progress against programme, cost and quality objectives.
• Supporting procurement, logistics and material management.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Promoting the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

About You

We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• SMSTS qualification.
