Mechanical Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Title: Mechanical Design Manager
Working hours: Full-time | 40 hours Monday - Friday  
Location: Lillyhall, Workington

Key responsibilities:
•    Concept development and design of mechanical equipment and systems
•    Generation of associated drawings and specifications
•    Responsible for generating and maintaining comprehensive engineering documentation including: 
?    Risk Assessments 
?    Engineering Calculations 
?    Technical Reports 
?    Drawings and Schematics 
•    Work closely with other departments for system integration, Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and suppliers, ensuring project compliance. 
•    Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, provide technical support where necessary during installation and maintenance phases.

Minimum essential qualifications/ experience and role requirements:
•    Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) 
•    2 Years design experience within the Nuclear / Heavy Engineering sector 
•    Proficient in IT and engineering software packages (including Inventor) 
•    Knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices 
•    Experience with technical writing and documentation
•    Experience with calculations 
•    Ability to obtain security clearance for nuclear sites where applicable
