Location: Primarily remote with occasional travel for meetings
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Rate: Up to £700/day Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS required

We are supporting a major public sector finance transformation programme seeking experienced senior finance professionals across three specialist areas:

• Inventory Process Lead
• Tax Lead (BAU-focused)
• Group Accounts / Consolidation Lead

Overview

These roles sit within a large-scale shared services and ERP transformation programme supporting multiple public sector organisations. The programme involves implementation of a new ERP platform across a significant user base and will play a key role in shaping finance processes, controls, reporting, and operational delivery over the coming years.

Depending on the role, responsibilities will include either:

• Supporting ERP implementation activity across the programme lifecycle, or
• Maintaining high-quality BAU financial operations while contributing subject matter expertise into programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting ERP lifecycle activities including design, build, testing, data migration, readiness and cutover
• Working collaboratively with programme teams, finance stakeholders and external partners
• Reviewing and improving finance processes, controls and reporting
• Providing guidance, documentation and training support where required
• Representing finance teams in cross-functional discussions and governance forums
• Managing competing priorities within a complex transformation environment

Essential Experience

All applicants should demonstrate:

• Strong experience with Oracle/SOP or related finance systems
• Experience operating within complex organisations or transformation programmes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage delivery to tight timelines
• Experience driving process improvement and change initiatives
• Knowledge of public sector/government finance environments
• Strong leadership and organisational capability

Specialist Experience by Role

Tax Lead

• Strong VAT and government tax expertise
• Knowledge of IR35, taxable benefits and tax advisory support
• Experience delivering BAU tax operations
• Ability to contribute to ERP-related tax process design

Inventory Lead

• Strong inventory systems and inventory accounting experience
• Experience managing inventory processes at scale
• ERP or finance systems change experience desirable

Group Accounts / Consolidation Lead

• Strong technical accounting and consolidation experience
• Experience with group reporting tools and processes
• Ability to support ERP design relating to financial reporting and consolidation
