RESPONSIBILITIES
The Role
As an Electrician, you’ll play a key role in supporting site operations by ensuring electrical systems and radiation protection equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. You will be involved in the installation, fault-finding, maintenance, calibration, and testing of electrical systems and associated equipment, helping to ensure both operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems and radiation protection instruments.
- Perform inspection, testing, and calibration of electrical equipment to meet operational and customer requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with electrical regulations, site procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and test results.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support, updates on work progress, and relevant information to customers and stakeholders.
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior team members, promoting safe working practices and high-quality workmanship.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and maintenance techniques.
- Knowledge of industrial and/or nuclear safety standards and procedures.
- Experience working with electrical equipment in a regulated or industrial environment.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., NVQ or equivalent).
- Completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred/advantageous).
