RESPONSIBILITIES
Document Controller (Senior / Lead) – Contract | Hybrid | Reading | SC ClearedWe are seeking an experienced Document Controller who can operate independently in a lead / senior capacity, taking full ownership of document control processes with minimal support from the engineering team. Due to the nature of the project, candidates must hold active SC (Security Check) clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage and maintain the document control process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely progression of deliverables.
- Track and manage all document deliverables using Microsoft Excel trackers, updating key dates and status information as documents progress through each stage of the review and approval process.
- Coordinate the distribution of documents for stakeholder review and information, maintaining an Excel-based review matrix and proactively following up with reviewers to ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage the transfer and control of documentation between Meridian and SharePoint, ensuring all documentation and Document Control Forms (DCFs) are stored, updated, and maintained correctly.
- Maintain and update the review matrix on a monthly basis, aligning it with the latest programme updates and deliverables plan provided by the delivery partner.
- Produce and present document control metrics, including review turnaround times, number of review cycles, and other performance indicators, reporting these in weekly team meetings.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the document control workflow.
- Ensure ongoing alignment of internal document tracking systems with those maintained by the delivery partner.
- Active SC (Security Check) clearance – essential.
- Proven experience working as a Senior or Lead Document Controller, with the ability to manage processes independently.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for tracking, reporting, and data management.
- Hands-on experience with Meridian and SharePoint for document management and transfer.
- Experience managing document review and approval workflows across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AWE deliverables review stages (S2, S3, S3R, etc.) would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively manage deadlines and stakeholder communication.
