Westlakes Recruit are currently hiring for a Technical Coordination Engineer to support a major nuclear new build project based in Bristol.
Role Overview
In this role, you'll support the Nuclear Island (NI) Configuration Manager, helping to deliver Configuration Management objectives and ensuring alignment with design, engineering, and commissioning activities. You'll play a key role in coordinating complex technical topics and driving forward essential processes to maintain design integrity and traceability.
Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Readiness

Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of start-of-commissioning activities.

Design Change Process Management

Deliver UKDC (UK Design Change) training

Organise and run Configuration Days
-
Produce and analyse performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting

Support and conduct audits, ensuring compliance and corrective action follow-up
-
Resolve configuration-related issues, incidents, and non-conformances
-

Technical Coordination
-
Coordinate or lead specific technical topics depending on project priorities
-
Facilitate arbitration and prioritisation of technical matters

Manage Technical Convergence Meetings when required

Stakeholder Engagement

Facilitate regular communications with internal and external stakeholders

Organise and lead workshops or meetings on configuration-related topics

Change Management
-
Open and manage T3/T2 changes and UKDC changes
-
Facilitate Immediate Action Meetings
-
Oversee production of deliverables linked to Configuration Management responsibilities (e.g. process updates, guidance, training materials)

System Support & Admin

Provide support with UKDC database administration as needed
-
Support Technical Direction Committee preparations

What We’re Looking For

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
-
Knowledge of EPR design and associated engineering processes

Solid understanding of UK nuclear regulations, industry best practices, and operating experience

Ability to grasp complex technical topics and present clear, accurate summaries

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across a wide range of teams and stakeholders

Proven ability to set and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and technical integrity
-
Confident team player with leadership or pastoral support experience
